The Maori are indigenous people of New Zealand, they are Polynesian and comprise about 14 percent of the country's population.They were installed gradually from the eighth century( VIII ) .In 2000 there were over 600 000 and 90 000 living in Australia.Te reo Maori is the Maori language is taught at school but the Maori also speak English which is the second national language of New Zealand
